The West New York Housing Authority (WNYHA) has been offering shelter and support to township residents since 1949. Today, the WNYHA continues to aggressively pursue alternative development methods for increasing affordable housing in the community while providing its residents with economic development opportunities. The WNYHA currently owns and operates 714 family and elderly units in eight developments, and administers 400 section 8 housing choice vouchers.
Including the executive director, there are 36 employees at WNYHA. WNYHA operates under a decentralized management structure with senior staff members reporting to the Executive Director, on matters of policy and regulatory operations.
The mission of the West New York Housing Authority is to promote adequate and affordable housing, economic opportunity and a suitable living environment free from discrimination.
